Hello to all,
I was on #tor in IRC tonight and we where talking about Syndie and I2P in general. The Tor developers hadn't heard about Syndie and when they looked at the spec they were duly impressed, so it was a nice discussion. There was talk about the threat model of Syndie but I could not find it from your website. Could you please post a link or describe the threat model of Syndie?
BTW, the Tor devs asked me to send you an invite to join us on #tor to talk about Syndie, etc. Hope to see you there! (the main Tor devs nicks on IRC are "nickm", "arma"). |

Regardless of whether it's the thread or threat model which they were interested in, I hope to stop by sometime soon and say hello. I visit Freenode (I suppose it was Freenode's #tor channel where the talk occurred?) occasionally to chat with folks from the Phex project.
I can't explain what Syndie is about as well as jrandom could, but since I do use it, and have taken a look at the code, I can introduce it somewhat. |

For Complication:
Note that IRC means OFTC, not Freenode. Actually, nickm, one of the two main Tor devs, never joins #tor on Freenode (except probably very recently?). Also note that arma showed somewhat less enthusiasm. (Here's a quote: "i don't have an opinion about [Syndie] yet. someday somebody will explain it to me in non-web2.0 terms and perhaps i'll understand its intended scope.") |
