Try to find more addresses to enter in, even just one more valid address could resolve the issue, as that peer might just not be connected to anyone else besides you.

Where can I find more peers? The only reason I saw the others is because they were posted in this thread.

Hi!

There are at least 2 Webcaches for hosts build in to i2phex, it should find other peers with time.
My node does it, but mostly only >some hours of uptime in which it often schows 0 online nodes.
In my experience downloading and uploading files does help keeping connected with other nodes.

I tried to upload a .txt into pb.i2p, but it did worked out.

Is there anyone here successfuly using i2phex? If so could you share your hosts because there's none here that seem to work.

Legion used to handle such things for awhile, however that eepsite has been down for some time. There were others but mostly they have switched to depending on the caches.

My advice you want a i2phex network, someone needs to host a regularly updated file of peer addresses, that others can view/download. The webcache feature leaves much to be desired, it should be treated as a fall back or addition to bootstrapping and not the be all or end all. Normal gnutella clients running outside of a network like i2p, while they also have webcache troubles it is not nearly as big of a problem, given the number of caches out there and the vast number of peers.

Sometimes it is better to use a simple solution that something like webcaches.

If someone wants to step up, he can get SVN commit rights and just put the updated list in SVN.

Then people who build from SVN will have the updated list automatically, and others will be able to just download it from there.

HI!

The webcaches still works fine.
Point is I2Phex looses connections pretty soon with no transfer to those nodes and does not try to reconnect.
The webcache is that kind of list of active phex nodes - and at least one is running and built in.

I have setup an ultra peer locally and I would like to upload it to my server (which has a way much faster connection than my local computer).

Would this make sense?

it does to me. ive considered such options and it seems like if you have the address of the server, you should be able to get whatever pushed to it so it could take over distribution. i have no cold hard facts for you though.

I2Phex _does_ work, the problem is that there is no content since a couple of months.
So, the leechers have no connection because there is no reason to connect at all.

Don't believe this? Put your beloved material into the shared folder, _then_ you will get connections.
